These classic pulled pork sandwiches will make you think you’re in North Carolina! The pork roast will cook in your slow cooker all day and then you add a tangy, Southern barbecue sauce. It will include buns and be packaged in a plastic bag. – Gluten Free with substitutions.
Thaw in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days, or until completely thawed. Place the roast in a slow cooker along with 1/2 of the sauce packet and 1/2 cup of water (1/4 cup for splits). Cover and cook on a low-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on a high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours. Remove the meat from the cooker, reserving the juices. Shred the meat, discarding the fat. Skim any fat from the juices. Return the shredded pork to the slow cook and add the remaining contents of the sauce bag. Stir to coat the pork. Serve on the buns.
